Staying near Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Are there any good, non-chain restaurants nearby or should I head to South Beach?

You're a bit far from the main food scenes. I'd take a ride share to Little Havana. Versailles is a classic for Cuban food. Or go to Wynwood for tons of great options like Coyo Taco.
